Not bad. Not awesome but not bad at all. I wish we had really DONE something with the concept of a female werewolf because it barely ever gets explored on TV but we only had an episode so that’s fine.

Here’s a big difference with these later one-offs. Like Season Seven of Buffy, they’re returning to the episodic routes but doing it better. Early Angel Monsters-of-the-Week were following pretty standard tropes and predictable arcs. Now, they’re willing to get way, way weirder than I’m used to seeing on TV. Eating live werewolves? Throwing an accomplice of dubious morality to (possibly) be sacrificed? Way darker, way weirder stuff.

I’m liking the one episode a week thing. It’s making me appreciate individual episodes more and maybe judge a bit less harshly.
