I think I like it. I say “think” because it is basically a bit hokey and a little nuts. BUT it is also going back to the roots of the show - Wolfram and Hart, missed ya. And it’s presenting the possibility of having at least some semblance of weekly plots. AND it’s really diving at the whole “grey area” thing that Angel - moreso than Buffy - has made a core theme of the show.

It’s nutso to me that as Angel heads back to Sunnydale something that could potentially play a major role in the defeating of the First was gifted by Wolfram & Hart. What? Brain explosion. Buffy fans who ignored Angel - you have no idea of the universe-crossing-significance that you’re missing. Wolfram and Hart saves Buffy? Nutso town.
