I like that the Angel Inc crew is really forced together in a way that they kept trying to make happen all season. Now they are very close to being the only people in the world not under Jasmine’s spell. They really only have each other.

And I liked the Jasmine plotline…but not as the big culmination to TWO SEASONS worth of continuous storyline. It’s too muddled. I still don’t understand when she started putting things into play. In theory an old-world-god is a big enough evil, but she never really felt that threatening. Even though the whole absolute-happiness versus free will debate was good…it lacked real thoughtful complexity.

And have we told dropped Shannshu? There was one passing reference to it, but that’s all. I miss the mission. Like, a whole frigging lot. I like monsters of the week on Angel. Not continuously and I want arcs, especially as the season amps up to conclusion, but not the way they conducted Season Four. I’m with Hal. Overall, it was pretty astoundingly abysmal.
